Motorbikes and winter

These Christmas, I had ridden on a motorbike.

My brother and I had to go to other city, 30km away from the place where we were, and we didn`t have a car available, so we picked his motorbike. We could have get on the train or bus, but they are too slow.

We put on our helmets, and we get on it. I wouldn´t drive it, therefore I could just enjoy the ride.

Initially, all went right. We were driving at low speed, and I was watching the urban landscape: Buildings, night lights and cars. It was great!

Some minutes later, we entered in the motorway. Our speed had increased: It was around 100km/h, and I started to realise that wind plus low temperatures are not a good combination. I suppose that the temperature was approximately 10ºC. It could seem not a low one, but I felt as it was worse.

The cold air went through my coat. My gloves weren´t good enough to avoid my fingers being chilled to the bone. My feet hurt. As time passed by, the freezing sensation was even more unbearable, although I tried to hide my hands and feet from the wind.

After 50 minutes on the motorbike, we finally arrived to our destiny.

I got my body as if a frost had reached my skin. We parked the motorbike and started to walk. Luckily, after some minutes, I recovered myself and felt better.

Next time, I will take my best gloves and shoes. And I will put my pyjama under my jeans to keep my legs warm!... Or it may be better to keep motorbikes for the summer.
